It feels like just last week we wrote our last blog post – when in reality it’s been a full 7 weeks. Where has the time gone? Thank you so much for your patience in awaiting our latest update. There has been no shortage of changes and excitement here at Susgrainable. The best news is that our team has again grown in size. You may have noticed the new “Meet the Team” section on our social media pages, but you will be the first to meet our newest members in our next update.
Also, a quick hello to everyone who is newly joining us. We’ve seen quite the growth in our mailing list since our last update. Welcome to our upcycling community and feel free to reach out with any questions you may have.
Now time to get everyone up to speed on what we’ve been up to.
Did you see us in the news? Big thanks to the Georgia Straight for writing such an amazing article. If you haven’t seen it, check it out here.
Our team is now 9 people strong. A massive thank you to UBC Sauder & Mitacs for putting together an amazing grant program for summer student hires. We look forward to introducing you to our new team members in our next post.
Susgrainable is honoured to have been nominated in 4 categories (Sustainability, Innovation, Rising Star and Product of the Year) in the upcoming BC Food & Beverage awards. Want to help? You can vote daily for Susgrainable’s Animal Lover cookie here! Thanks in advance for your vote!
Susgrainable’s new bread options have been really well received – and more options are soon to come. Bruno has been hard at work coming up with new varieties. These will be available at markets throughout the summer.
Our local fruit bar where we celebrate local food producers is once again available in limited quantities at markets. Currently, we are featuring Mandair Farms strawberries alongside Nutrient Dense Farms’ rhubarb in our Strawberry/Rhubarb Bar. We look forward to increasing our commitment to supporting local as we continue to grow.
We’ve been focused on creating more recipes with the rising demand for our flour. Stay tuned as we begin adding them to our blog.
Markets will be our primary focus for the summer season again. We look forward to hearing your feedback on our new bread line-up. Thanks to everyone who has provided us with feedback so far and let us know if there is anything you’d like us to try and bake.
We’ve also been working closely with a few partners on our new packaged goods line. Our goal is to have 3 new packaged dry good products ready for you by the end of summer. We are very excited with how it’s going so far and can’t wait to share more during our summer updates!!
Until next time,
The Susgrainable Team
